The incarnation is the ultimate unexpected gift: God choosing to take on flesh and enter fully into our human story. This sermon proclaims that Christ existed before creation itself—revealing that love is older than time and deeper than darkness. In Jesus, the light shines where it is most needed, and no darkness can overcome it.
Rather than sending instructions from afar, God shows up in person. Love becomes tangible, embodied, and real as Jesus “moves into the neighborhood,” revealing God’s heart through presence, compassion, and grace. The mystery of Christmas is not just that God came once long ago, but that God still comes—meeting us in the middle of ordinary life.
As we leave worship, the question lingers: Where is God inviting you to put love into action this week—to let love have skin on, through your words, choices, and care for others?
