Thankful for the Cup

Throughout this series, we've been examining our own cups. What do we have to offer in this season of life? What might we not be able to offer right now? And what might we hope to offer in the future as our cups change?

We've talked about filling one another's cups, coming together as a community, sharing our talents, and trusting in what can happen when we give what we have.

This story started with a lesson and $5 in the hands of each child. Two families took that challenge, combined their talents and resources, and turned small ideas into something they never imagined possible. One family opened a lemonade stand. Another started baking cookies. Together, these children raised hundreds — yes, hundreds! — of dollars for local pantries supporting people and animals in our community.

Sometimes, the most meaningful lessons are taught to us by children.

These kids and their giant hearts, families who said, "Okay, let's do it!" and a community of supporters, both near and far, came together to spread kindness and love.

A cup that might have once sat untouched at the back of the shelf suddenly became someone's favorite coffee mug.

And now, that cup runneth over, helping fill the hearts and bellies of people and pets in need right here in Pinellas County.

We are incredibly thankful for everyone who helped these children turn something they believed in into something real.

When acts of kindness and service become so fruitful at a young age, imagine how encouraging that can be for a child who dreams of changing the world.

Here at Clearview, these children may not see it or understand it just yet, but we see the love in their hearts. We see the kindness they're learning to share. And we see the beautiful imprint they are already beginning to leave on this world.

Because when we share what we have, no matter how small it may seem, we never know just how many cups we might fill.

And what a joyful thing that is.
