Maundy Thursday – Love Poured Out
John 19:23–30
At the cross, even Jesus’ clothing is divided among the soldiers. Fragmentation and isolation seem to have the final word. Yet in the midst of suffering, Jesus forms new bonds of belonging—“Here is your mother.” Love does not withdraw from pain; it pours itself out within it. This night reminds us that grace creates community precisely where life feels most broken. In receiving Christ’s self-giving love, we discover that the church is formed not by strength or certainty but by shared vulnerability and faithful presence.
