Easter – Named and Sent

John 20:1–18

Mary stands weeping in the garden, believing death has taken the final word. Then Jesus speaks her name. In that moment confusion becomes recognition, grief becomes joy, and the world opens again with possibility. Resurrection begins not with spectacle but with personal encounter—being known and called by Christ. Yet the story does not end there. Mary is sent to tell the others what she has seen. Easter reminds us that resurrection is both gift and calling. Having been named by grace, the church is sent into the world to proclaim that freedom and new life are possible.
